The United States mint has issued a large variety of cents, or pennies, throughout history. We are most familiar with the Small Cents, specifically the Lincoln Memorial Cent, but there were also Large Cents produced in the early days which were bigger than the conventional penny and eventually deemed too large of a coin for the denomination.
